My name is Lauren Tate. I suppose I could describe myself in many different ways, but the people who know me always say that I wear many hats. And I have always loved that. I do wear lots of hats. I wear toques, baseball caps, felt cowboy hats, berets, but the hat I enjoy wearing the most is whatever feeling covers the top of my head when I am outside near a river. I feel most myself then. I am a wildlife biologist by discipline, but have had many different positions and skillsets over the years. Bike mechanic, hiking and climbing guide, barista, truck driver, you name it. I LOVE all the hats that I wear and am constantly looking for different styles and sizes. On top of it all... I have many hobbies. Some of which you see here. Sewing, knitting, silversmithing, fly tying, birdwatching, auto maintenance, wood-working. The list goes on.
I have a wonderful dog named Pete. It is very important to me that you know that. He accompanies me on all of my adventures and sits patiently with me in my garage-turned-shop while I cuss at my work bench. His patience has taught me patience.
